It’s a profound understatement: Jackson & Perkins knows roses. They reside at the forefront of hybridizing, selecting, and delivering the highest quality, unique roses to home gardeners. In 1872 Charlie Perkins and his father-in-law, A.E. Jackson started the company with the promise of quality. Charlie would say, "If it doesn't grow for you, let me know." To this day, everything they sell is fully guaranteed to grow. While selling produce from their farm in New York, they put a hybridized climber on the market called Dorothy Perkins. It became one of the most widely planted roses in the world. And this was when they turned their focus to roses. With continued innovative breeding over the years, and the introduction of disease-resistant roses Jackson & Perkins made rose gardening accessible to the home gardener. They hired brilliant hybridizers who developed the Floribunda and 110 breeds. Two roses were featured on special issue American postage stamps in 1978.
