About Bee Cups
Getting to know Jen Rose, an ecological artist, has been a fascinating journey for us at Gardening Know How. A former college professor, Jen founded Bee Cups in her garage. Her background in installation art, or “environmental” art and her interest in nature inspired her to study bees and their needs. She is an artist, as well as an ecological scientist, and we are privileged to welcome her and her uniquely designed Bee Cups™ to our family. We love featuring this little product that can yield such an extraordinary environmental impact.
Bee Cups™ for Thirsty Pollinators
Jen Rose’s charming Bee Cups™ are not just your run-of-the-mill bee watering stations. They are hand-made of porcelain, uniquely textured for the bees’ tiny hooked feet, and feature a specially designed “bump” inside that gives pollinators a safe island while they rehydrate and cool down. A bee’s eyes perceive ultraviolet light in flowers that appear pink to them, so Jen Rose invented and patented a special UV glaze that draws their attention and invites them to visit the Bee Cups™. Other pollinators, like butterflies, ladybugs, and even hummingbirds also appreciate Bee Cups™ as a welcome respite in their journeys. Unlike many on the market, these Bee Cups™ are 100% chemical-free and food-safe. They contain zero plastics, will not fade in the sun, and hold the perfect measured amount of water. Thoughtfully developed, Bee Cups™ fill a vital role for pollinators in today’s gardens and yards.
